What is an Ice Dam?
An ice dam is ice that is formed at the edge of a roof trapping melting snow from draining of the roof. Ottawa roofs faces extreme minus temperatures causing the outside layers of snow is form to ice. When the temperature raises the softer snow underneath melts, but is unable to escape due to the ice.
